Healthy Chocolate No Bake Energy Bites Recipe
What You Will Need(Full Printable Recipe Available Below)
- 1 cup Rolled Oats (this is the gluten-free oats that I use and Love: HERE)
- 1/2 cup Almond Butter (or you can use natural peanut butter)
- 1/3 cupraw honey
- 1 tspvanilla extract
- 3 Tbsp Raw Cacao powder (this is the one that I use and Love: HERE)
- 1/4 cup ground flax seed
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips or cacao nibs (optional)
How to Make Chocolate Energy Balls
Homemade energy balls are one of my all-time favorite healthy snacks.I keep mine in a container in the fridge forwhen I want something quick, easy and to curb the sweet cravings. I admit that once in a while I eat so many that it feels like I’m defeating the purpose. They are so yummy it’s hard to believethey are healthy. But I suppose we can all splurge once in a while right? Some days I snack on raw nuts, while other days I really want something sweet and chocolatey. This energy balls recipe is a family favorite in my house. Along with all of my delicioussmoothie recipes, there are always healthy energy balls, muffins and/or donuts in my grab and go stash of snacks. These have played a large part in my clean eating journey to losing 45 lbs!
Directions:
- Place a piece of wax paper on a plate and set aside.
- Gather your ingredients.
- When it comes to almond butter or peanut butter I like to read the ingredients on the label. I always opt for the product with the most natural ingredients and no additives. This almond butter is made with just almonds. Nothing else. (HERE)
- The same applies to the peanut butter. So depending on your preference, if you want to make peanut butter energy balls this peanut butter is made with just peanuts. Nothing else. (HERE)
- Place all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and stir to combine.
- Using a tablespoon, scoop the mixture and roll with clean hands into 1″ balls.
- Place each energy ball on the prepared plate.
- Once the mixture is used up, place the plate of energy bites in the fridge to allow the bites to chill for 20 minutes.
- Transfer your no bake protein balls to an air-tight container and store in the fridge or freezer until ready to eat.
This recipe will make approximately 15 servings depending on how large or small you roll the energy bites.

Ingredients
- 1/2 cup almond butter
- 1/3 cup raw honey
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup gluten free rolled oats
- 3 Tbsp raw cacao powder
- 1/4 cup ground flax seed
- optional - 1/3 cup dark choc chips or cacao nibs
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and stir to combine.
- Roll the mixture into 1" balls
- Place the balls in the fridge for 20 minutes to chill
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator or freezer until ready to eat.
