After the war, he worked in construction and built packing houses for the Iowa Beef he later moved into production. He became plant manager for Iowa Beef in Luverne, and managed the plant at Emporia from 1971 to 1977.

Mr. Fleming moved to Missouri MBPXL, where he was vice president in charge of the slaughter division until retiring in 1979. As vice president, he supervised plant managers in Texas, Missouri and Kansas. "He was very knowledgeable in his field. He was a very firm but fair manager," Schwieger said.

Outside work, Mr. Fleming enjoyed bowling, fishing, reading and working with handicapped children. He is survived by his wife, Carol, and three children at home, Robert, Thersa and Coralee. Services will be at 10 a.m. day at Resthaven Mortuary, 11800 W.
