Hello there, Gundam fan. I have compiled a list of my favorite Gundams here. These are, in my opinon, the most powerful mobile suitsI have seen in the Gundamuniverse. Feel free to add yours in the comment section. Also check out ProfessorOtaku’s Top 10 version if you are curious.
10. Destiny Gundam

The Destiny Gundam is the main suit of Gundam Seed Destiny and Shin Asuka is its main pilot. It has been designed as a high-performance general purpose mobile suit that is capable of handling various combat situations without needing to exchange equipment during a fight. For fights in close proximity, the suit has been equipped with two beam boomerangs which double up as beam sabers, a large beam sword of which the pilot, Shinn Asuka prefers as his weapon of choice, and a pair of beam cannons.
For long range combat, the suit comes with a beam rifle that is hand-held and long-range beam cannons. For defense, the suit utilizes a small physical shield as well as two beam shield generators. Finally, the suit has been equipped with a standard set of CIWS mounted on its head.
9. RX-93-v2 Hi-v Gundam

The RX-93-v2 Hi-v Gundam is another interpretation of the RX-93 V Gundam which is seen in Gundam Mobile Suit Beltorchika’s children Amuro Ray is its pilot. It has distinct back boosters and a revised fun funnel system. Its arms include the addition of a powerful machine gun on its right forearm with the inclusion of an extra beam saber making the number of beam sabers up to three.
The suit is also capable of using a hyper mega bazooka launcher when a more heavy firepower is needed. Amuro Ray was able to control the suit more easily thanks to the Psycoframe System, which is a great improvement over the Psycommu system and is prevalent among mobile suits that have been designed to be operated by Newtype pilots.
8. RX-0 Unicorn Gundam

The RX-0 Unicorn Gundam is the main suit of the Gundam unicorn mobile Suit that is piloted by Banagher links. The suit was made as a final part of the E.F.S.F.’s re-organization plan. Its main goal during its development was to destroy any traces of Zeonism in the Earth Sphere and thus, it also incorporates an anti-new type system with its Gundam design.
When the NT-D system is activated the suit goes into destroy mode. To mark this transformation, the suit’s frame expands and the armor seams separate and lock down into several hard points while the newly exposed psycho-frame emits a pinkish glow.
7. Double X Gundam
The Double X Gundam is a suit that was created by the newly formed New United Nations Earth and Garrod Ran pilots it. This new Gundam contains the brainwave patterns of Jamil Neate during the 7th space war making it able to utilize satellite canons without a Newtype as its pilot. It has been equipped with two satellite cannons as part of its frame making it able to unleash a very powerful destructive force.
The power of the two satellite cannons was revealed when Garrod Ran used them to destroy the island of Zonder Epta with one shot from the cannons. Its destructive power was also shown again when it was used to destroy the colony laser that was developed by the Space Revolutionary Army.
6. Age-3 Gundam

The Age-3 Gundam is among the four Titular mobile suits and the successor to the Gundam Age-2 normal. Kio Asuno pilots this suit. The suit was developed secretly by Flit who used the Age device left by Asemu before he went missing 13 years ago, in preparation for the last battle against the Vagan. The Age-3 Consists of two main components:
The G-Cepter which is a separate unit that is transformable and serves as the arms, legs, body, and armaments of the Age-3 normal making it capable of autonomous flight, and the Core Fighter which serves as the boosters, co*ckpit, and head. The Age-3 also has newer weapons installed in it. These weapons include; Beam sabers in the mobile suit which were made to be wielded rather than held by hand or deployed directly from the shields of the forearm.
It has also been equipped with a newer weapon referred to as the SigMaxiss Rifle, which is a large hand-held beam cannon that was developed from the Diva-Class Photon Blaster cannon. It has the capabilities to destroy Vagan suits with one shot even those that have electromagnetic armor installed as well as counter beam cannon shots that come from a Vagan MS.

5. GF13-017NJII God Gundam
The God Gundam is the second mobile fighter that was used during the 13th Gundam Fight by Neo Japan and Domon Kashu is its main pilot. The suit has been equipped with a balanced arsenal. It has four Vulcans that are mounted at its head together with two barreled machine cannons on its shoulders for long range combat.
For fights in close range, the suit has the option to draw its two beams or launch two spurs with short range on its forearms referred to as God Slashers. During hyper mode, the God Gundam’s chest opens and reveals an energy multiplier and the wing-like emitters on its back begin to unravel. Its total performance is then increased by 30% and gains the ability to perform a very powerful attack known as the God Finger Attack.
4. Gundam Wing Zero Custom

This mobile suit is first seen as a mobile suit in Gundam Wing and the sequel OVA Movie ‘Endless Waltz’. Though it has been piloted by many during its lifetime, its most famous pilot was the main protagonist of the Gundam series, Heero Yuy. The custom of the Gundam Wing Zero loses the shield of the Gundam Proto Zero meaning that it loses the ability to change into the Neo-Bird mode.
However, it gained four angelic wings which are lined with its multiple thrusters that contribute greatly to the Gundam Space AMBAC system. It also has two large wings that can be used as shields during fights and also work as shields for heat during atmospheric re-entry. Thanks to the zero-frame, the suits external and internal armor are separated completely making it able to go on fighting even when it has lost most of its armor.
3. Gundam 00 Raiser
The Gundam 00 Raiser is a combined and mainstay forms GN 0000 00 Gundam and GNR-010 0 Raiser.The mobile unit is co-piloted by Setsuna F. Seiei and Saji Crossroad. When joining is required, the laser guided sensors will mutually lock into one another with a Haro configuring the docking sequence automatically. When the twin drives of the 00 Raiser reach 100% synchronization rate, it gains the ability to activate GN particle generation rates that far exceed 300%during the Trans-AM first dock and also gains the usage of the Raiser System.
The Raiser System also gives the suit abilities to execute powerful attacks like a massive GN beam laser which has been named ‘the Raiser Sword’ which gives it greater close combat abilities and enables it to use Trans-Am mode with more power and duration. The 00 Raiser’s power is further enhanced with the presence of an Innovator pilot.
2. RX-78GP02A Gundam “Physalis”
The RX-78GP02A Gundam is the second of four suits in the Development Project of Gundam. It was first owned by the Earth Station until it was stolen and piloted by Anavel Gato, who is the ace pilot of the Delaz Fleet. The suit was developed as a countermeasure when the Earth Federation discovered that the Zeon remnants could be developing mobile suits which have nuclear capabilities.
Besides the nuclear warhead, the Physalis has also been armed with standard Vulcan guns mounted at its head and beam sabers mounted at the torso that glow green when activated instead of the normal pink. The Physalis has a huge disadvantage whereby if the nuclear bazooka happens to get destroyed, it will have to rely on its thick armor, large shield, and beam sabers and can end up being destroyed very easily at long ranges. However, a skilled pilot can be able to overcome these disadvantages.
1. ZGMF-X20A Strike Freedom Gundam

The Strike Freedom Gundam is the successor to the freedom Gundam. It was specifically made to meet the needs of Kira Yamato. The Strike Freedom has been equipped with a variable and like its previous model the Freedom Gundam, its arms consists mainly of ranged weapons that are very powerful.
The arms it features are: A head mounted CIWS, rail cannons that have been installed on the hip, a multi-phase cannon beam that is installed on the abdomen, beam rifles, and beam sabers which are combine-able. The design of the Strike Freedom is focused more on its movement capabilities rather than the strength of its armor as we see that Kira rarely gets hit and the beam shields are able to overcome its defensive weaknesses.
